Description

The Volunteer Lead for RockVIU played a crucial role in offering enriching and unforgettable experiences for student volunteers and faculty/staff. They were tasked with recruiting volunteers, organizing a detailed table of needed volunteers for each RockVIU event, and managing human resources to guarantee equitable participation. More than just overseeing logistics, the Volunteer Lead also cultivated meaningful connections, ensuring every volunteer felt appreciated and linked to the OCCEL and the university at large.

Overview

  • Recruit student and faculty/staff volunteers for RockVIU events. Organize and manage a detailed volunteer roster to ensure smooth event facilitation.
  • Ensure equitable volunteer participation and manage volunteer resources effectively.
  • Create meaningful connections among volunteers, enhancing their experience and fostering a sense of belonging and appreciation towards the university.

Requirements

  • Experience in volunteer coordination or event management preferred.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
