The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the VILC’s presence on major social media platforms, this includes email accounts and website material updates. The Social Media Coordinator ensures that the VILC’s message is communicated to the target audience in the most effective manner possible while maintaining the VILC’s professional image.
Position Requirements
The Vancouver Island Leadership Conference (VILC) is sponsored through the Office of Co-Curricular Engagement and Learning. VILC is the host to the annual student-led, non-profit conference held on Vancouver Island, BC. These conferences connect students with a passion for leadership and engage local community business networks.
It is the mission of the conference to provide students with the best tools to not only build a better community through leadership, but also empower diverse thinking in the ever-changing world.
Position Responsibilities
Create and maintain VILC social media presence on all major platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
Engage with students through various platforms with strategies such as polling, contests, etc.
Ensure all VILC information is well promoted through social media platforms.
Maintaining the VILC’s professional brand image in all content distributed.
Coordinate with the marketing portfolio, event planners and academic portfolio to keep the potential attendees up to date with upcoming and current information
Maintain a content calendar to keep the Chair and Vice-Chair up to date on posting schedule.
Attend all Team Meetings.
Additional duties as they arise.
